Ingredients
-
4 ripe plantains, peeled and sliced diagonally into 1-inch thick pieces
-
2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
-
2 tablespoons brown sugar (or coconut sugar for a healthier option)
-
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
-
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
-
1 Pinch of salt
-
1 Lime wedges for serving (optional)
Directions
Serve these Vegan Caribbean Grilled Plantains as a delightful side dish or dessert. Squeeze fresh lime juice over them for an extra burst of flavor if desired.
Make sure to use ripe plantains with black spots on their skin for the best results. Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less sugar. These grilled plantains are delicious on their own, but you can also serve them with vegan ice cream for an indulgent treat.
