Ingredients
-
4 large Portobello mushrooms, stems removed
-
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon dried basil
-
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
-
1 Salt and black pepper to taste
-
1 Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Directions
You can also add a sprinkle of vegan Parmesan cheese or nutritional yeast for an extra layer of flavor.
Steps
1
Done
|
In a small bowl, whisk together the balsamic vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade. |
2

|
Place the Portobello mushrooms in a shallow dish, gill-side up. Pour the marinade evenly over the mushrooms, making sure to coat them well. Allow them to marinate for at least 15-20 minutes, flipping them halfway through to ensure even absorption of the flavors. |
3
Done
|
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. |
4
Done
|
Once the grill is hot, place the marinated Portobello mushrooms, gill-side down, on the grill grates. Grill for approximately 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are tender and have grill marks. |
5
Done
|
While grilling, occasionally brush the mushrooms with any remaining marinade to keep them moist and flavorful. |
6
Done
|
Remove the grilled Portobello mushrooms from the grill and place them on a serving plate. |
7
Done
|
Drizzle them with any remaining balsamic glaze from the marinade. |
