– 1/2 cup agave nectar
– 1 oz. of light rum (optional)
– 1/2 tsp. of pure vanilla extract
– Pinch of salt (optional)
– 1 shot of tequila (recommended)
Instructions:
1. Combine all ingredients except the tequila in a shaker filled with ice. Shake well until the mixture becomes frothy. Strain into two margarita glasses.
2. Garnish each drink with a lime wheel and a sprinkling of cayenne pepper if desired. If using light rum, garnish with a cherry or strawberry.
3. Add the tequila shot over ice and stir gently. Serve immediately.
Note: For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the tequila with sparkling water or club soda. Enjoy the same way as above, but without the tequila shot.
