– 1 large onion, chopped

– 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
– 1/2 cup red wine
– 1 teaspoon dried basil
– 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
– In a medium pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened but not browned, about 5 minutes.
– Stir in the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
– Pour in the crushed tomatoes, red wine, herbs, salt, pepper, and remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20-30 minutes, or until thickened slightly.
– Cook your preferred type of pasta according to package directions. Drain and combine the pasta with the tomato sauce once cooked through. Toss well and serve immediately.
