1/4 cup low-sodium tamari or soy sauce (gluten-free if needed)

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 tablespoons maple syrup or agave nectar

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for the sauce)

1 Wooden skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Directions
Serve the Vegan Grilled Teriyaki Tofu Skewers hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
You can serve these tofu skewers with steamed rice or grilled vegetables for a complete Japanese-inspired meal.

In a bowl, combine tamari or soy sauce, rice vinegar, maple syrup or agave nectar, toasted sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the teriyaki marinade. |

Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes and place them in a shallow dish. Pour half of the teriyaki marinade over the tofu, ensuring it's well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes. |

While the tofu is marinating, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. |

Thread the marinated tofu cubes onto the soaked wooden skewers. |

Grill the tofu skewers for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until they have grill marks and are slightly crispy. |

In a small saucepan, heat the remaining teriyaki marinade. Once it's simmering, add the cornstarch-water mixture and stir until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat. |
