Directions
Enjoy the delightful flavors of Mango Sticky Rice as a comforting Chinese dessert. It’s best served warm.
You can adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less sugar. This dessert is traditionally served warm, but you can also enjoy it chilled.
Steps
1
Done
|
Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain thoroughly. |
2
Done
|
In a saucepan, combine the rinsed glutinous rice, coconut milk, granulated sugar, and salt. Stir well to combine. |
3
Done
|
Place the saucepan over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Once it boils, reduce the heat to low, cover with a lid, and let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. |
4
Done
|
Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 5 minutes. This will help the rice absorb any remaining liquid. |
5
Done
|
To serve, scoop a portion of sticky rice onto a plate, top it with sliced mangoes, and garnish with sesame seeds or toasted coconut flakes if desired. |
